Play time
PLAYPARKS in Sunderland East are being transformed as part of Sunderland City Council’s multimillion-pound investment in play. Young people and families in Doxford, Hendon and Millfield are among the thousands to benefit from Play Pathfinder cash. Sunderland City Council is one of only 30 councils in the country to be awarded £2.5million in Play Pathfinder funding. This funding is being used to create 28 new and redeveloped play sites across the city, so young people have an area where they can play, make friends, challenge themselves and have fun, near where they live.
Change your world – one mile at a time
PASSENGERS were treated to an impromptu performance as part of a campaign to get out of their cars.
Over the past few weeks the Go Smarter campaign has been trying to tempt more shoppers and commuters away from their motors and to use more
sustainable transport instead.
The Go Smarter team and various travel advisors have been out in force at Park Lane to offer free advice on public transport, walking, cycling, car clubs and car sharing.
